Dear Frank, list members.

Searching through the archives, I was only able to find the following thread concerning cardboard air deflectors that are in front of the radiator and also found in the engine compartment for the air intake:

Mine are beyond ratty. Frank does a good job of explaining his project, but I am requestiing an update from him, and perhaps other list member's suggestions about replacement material.

I too considered masonite-like products, but was concerned that they would be too rigid for easy installation / removal and also potentially for vibration. Finally, I feared that the material would be too hard and possibly wear or chip the paint, alowing the formation of the dreaded ferrous oxide and metamorphosing my Smurf into a Rustphalia, not good.

Regular corrugated cardboard wouldn't stand up a season and any other material I considered wasn't rigid enough.

So Frank, two years hence, any down sides to your handywork? Does the material hold up to the elements? Any increase noise? comments?

List members, any othert material attempted?
