You've heard this response already, but this happened to me in my '87. It was the oil cooler. I never had the problem diagnosed, but the symptoms were quite suggestive. I bought one from Ken at Vanagain, and it's been working ever since. You might want to order the two little hoses that go to and from the cooler as they're quite expensive from the dealer. David
