Well people, I'vw worked 2 months getting my "new" 84 to run correctly at idele. Today I was rewarded for my stubborness! I replaced the temp 2 sending unit, redid the grounds twice, replaced the o2 sensor, plugs and wires, cap and rotor and cleaned the air flow meter. Then I replaced the plug wires again as I got shocked checking the fuel pressure regulator. Finally I had my ohm meter attactched to the afm's terminals while moving the arm, at just over a idel the resistance went jumped way up. then further it came back down. I decided I would clean it again and make it work or brake it! I put some since banned freon cleaner on a clean cotton rag and wiped the carbon lines real hard. Readjusted everything to where it should have ben and now it runns perfectly!! Idels nice and smooth, starts and stays running without help and to reward it I changed the gear oil with a synthetic blend!

Joe
