Received my SA Grille kit from Bus Depot today and have this to report:

I have to admit that the list had made me a little nervous about getting my order from Ron. However, my order was placed on Oct 16. I ordered this, along with the foglight switch, and mentioned to Ron that I was in no hurry to receive these items.

Well today (10 working days later) I received my order. The box was fairly beaten up and I was a little nervous opening it (fearing the worst). The grille, lights, and the switch were in perfect shape. The lights are German Hella, and the brackets are very well made. The grille looks more rugged than the pics I had seen. The emblem for the grille looks like someone made it in their backyard in Hong Kong or something, flaky, wavy, and terrible chrome. To tell the truth I hadn't even considered that the emblem would be included so that was fine. Since they are about $10 from the dealer, I had already ordered one and had it waiting.

I rarely take lunch at work, but I spent the better part of an hour and a half working on it. I robbed all the parts off my 84 (which is for sale). The 7" round lights were already Hella H-4 with Narva bulbs and they just screw right in, of course, after I converted them from 9004 to 6011 pigtails.

The driving lights were a little more difficult. I laid them in place and mounted the grille. Then I centered the lights, held them, and removed the grille. After drilling 3/32" holes, I inserted the same style sheet metal screws as the 7" ones have.

I only hooked up the 7" lights as the boss was eyeing me by this time! The connector is different than the square light connector, but I haven't researched what will fit.

I am thinking that I might make a headlight harness to incorporate relays and the extra light switch all in one, but that is for another day.

Uh, moral? THANKS RON!!!
