Subject: Re: What is an Audi Quattro......?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Audi Quattroīs pretty much the european answer to the AMC Eagle, a 4wd designed before the "4WD or SUV boom" when it became OK to drive a Jeep. The big difference between the two cars mentioned above is the same as between a GMC Typhoon and a Chevy Suburban, the Quattro was built for rallying, became a record holder up on "Pikes Peak " for many years and itīs also a very competent Autobahn racer with a top speed of + 130 mph with the Eagle being more of the family car . And the things they say - thatīs pure jelousy! Besides PerL I donīt know of any pre - Vanagon owner that has converted, we all prefer space over speed - right - even if I would like some more muscle in the Vanagon.... Maybe an Audi Quattro I5 Turbo engine and transmission, some fat rims and tyres........ The Quattro would be a great organ donor.... ;-)
