Raimund, In my experience finds like this are fairly rare here too... most Vanagons end up in junk yards that specialize in VW's and they know the value so they strip the parts off and mark them up pretty high... but once in a while you will find a Vanagon in a "U-Pull" type yard which is very inexpensive... but you have to keep an eye out because it isn't long until they have been picked cleaner than a turkey the day after Thanksgiving :)
