Quattro - Syncro.......... I would like to know the advantages and disadvantages of each type of system. I'm not clear on the technical differences either. Which system is better suited for what application? Any opinions? Viscous couplings (in the vanagon anyway) seem to have a limited life span. What other vehicles use a VC?

I usually think of the Vanagon syncro as an AWD vehicle, not an off road -4WD vehicle, what do others think?
