Hi - I just purchased a 1987 Westfalia Vanagon (80,000 miles) and drove her from Seattle to Boston (where I have relocated) -she did great the whole way. I have a couple of questions however - do I need to put snow tires on her for the winter and if so, what brand should I use and do I need only rear tires or all four replaced. Secondly I have not been able to open the storage area under the rear sit (where the jack and the second table is) since the day the bought the vanagon. It must be stuck somehow - has anyone had this problem before and do you have any suggestions as to how I might open it without forcing it? Thirdly - how does one set this list serve for digest? I can see it is an active list and am very happy to know such a vanagon community exists but I don't want 100 messages each day! Thanks much, Nicoli - a new vanagon owner
