<zavlomja@EC-RED.COM> writes: >* installing a bigger radiator The only thing wrong, IMHO, with the Vanagon cooling system is it is OVER engineered. The radiator is massive! It is actually twice as big as what you see. If you inspect it you will find it is two radiator cores, one in front of the other. For this reason I think it does not get hot enough to keep film and deposits from accumulating on it's inner surface. All mine have needed, to remedy any loss of cooling efficiency, were to be "blasted" out. This involved a shop with a machine that forced heat and sonic force through it. I have heard from several motor heads that a "new" Vanagon radiator has ample cooling potential for even a V8 conversion. >* getting a new propeller with more blades for the water pump that is the only pump I have and can get around here. Just get a new German water pump. I emphasize "new" and "German". >* last but not least, installing a second pump in the middle of the circuit (as the tyco race cars for kids) right after the radiator so it helps move the flow. Just get a new German water pump. I emphasize "new" and "German".
