Well, I fear the worst. Time, advice from the Vanagon list, and input from a half dozen mechanics are pushing me towards not purchasing the Vanagon. The Voyager has too many problems to make the harpsichord moves this week, but I may be able to borrow another vehicle. Even if I don't buy the Vanagon, I may remain on this list. I find the whole counterculture fascinating. I've also become obsessed by Vanagons. A friend of mine and I counted today. In just a few blocks in San Francisco, we saw 12 of them.
