You'll wonder how you ever got by without it if you use the van for > camping at all. I have never regretted doing the conversion and would do it again in a second, even though I've never built the bed supports (yet). The standing room alone is worth it, as mentioned. The top of the roof is also a great place to throw your frabbitz that is all over the bottom bed during the day. We used to put it in big 18 gallon Rubbermaid tubs and set it outside. No we don't have to. Also, when cooking on a table in the van, you don't have to worry about burning the headliner. Finally, the ventilation for summer months is MUCH better than a hardtop van. -Karl Karl & Kristina Bloss - Trexlertown, PA '00 Wannabusser "Julia" '87 Westy Weekender "Bev" - 201K Miles '85 Westy Camper "Fred" - 39K Miles http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw - vanagon@makarov.com US West Trip 2000: http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vwtrek PA/NJ/DE/MD area VW bus "group" http://www.enter.net/~bloss/vw/pavanagon LINUX - for IQs higher than 98 |
