-------------- quote -------- JC Ripme sells a gizmo to fill 1 lb tanks from a 20 pounder, but they say it's not for use on disposables. However, nobody I've talked to has ever seen a 1 lb refillable, so I think it's a liability weasel warning and intended for 1lb disposables anyway. -------------- end quote ------------- I made a refill adapter hose/connector out of a propane torch and a bar-b-que tank withdrawal fitting. You turn the BBQ tank upside down to get liquid. I find that if I refill the small disposable type cylinders, I cannot get them as full as when they come new. You need a pump or a bleed valve on the tank you are filling. You can also buy a "liquid withdrawal" fitting that allows you to get liquid propane out of the POL FILL fitting (where you refill your tank) on your westy. So, if you wanted, you could easily cook up transfer hose to fill disposable cylinders directly from your westy tank. No modifications on your westy tank would be needed. Gary |
