Phaedra, If it works for you, that's all that counts. I agree it's clean and quiet, but not at all dependable (clouds), foolproof (much wasted energy), or inexpensive. Bill Davidson's panel makes 3AH, which seems like a minimum usable level, and cost $320. Add in a good inverter, the price tops $500. Check with your Canon dealer again, most camera manufacturers make a car charger, or you can find one in the aftermarket. Larry PS-Please recycle your plastics!
