of course if you ruin the sky light that is cheaper and easier to replace than a pop top... but still not exactly cheap...

you might try this... install the fan on a piece of ply wood and set it over a bucket.... then take a hose and high pressure nozzle and spray the heck out of it from all directions to see if it would leak in a rain storm while driving...

if it passes this test you could possibly try mounting the plywood at top of pop top height and driving down the freeway to see if there is any wind noise... it might be mounted in the luggage rack with something under the plywood to hold it up to the correct height... or... maybe even remove the skylight and cut the plywood to fit the hole somehow...

just some ideas....
