having a Westy Syncro does help....

I read a story a few weeks ago about a guy that records > nature sounds, and he said there are only three locations in the country that > are totally quiet, i.e., do not have unnatural sounds in the background. Well, I personally know of many more than a few square miles.... where I go I don't hear even the sound of another engine in the distance for weeks at a time.... I appreciate the article trying to make the point that quiet is disappearing... but like many such articles it has an adjenda... and as such a little prone to exagerate.. but I do agree... there aren't many such places... and virtually none accessible on pavement...

Yep... ya have to hunt for those places and be willing to drive out to the very end of some 4wd roads.... SE Utah is one of my faviorite areas... but, of course, I never tell exactly where :)
