I think we're really beating this into the ground.

The heater has what appears to be a ceramic surface with a grid of holes. The gas comes out the holes, burns at the surface of the ceramic and the whole surface glows after a while and radiates heat out. Obviously, there's lots of heat from the burning gas itself. Maybe it's not catalytic.

IMHO, it doesn't really matter anyway. Propane combusts with oxygen and you get heat, CO2 and H2O. Whether or not it's catalytically activated is pretty much irrelevant. It's not like we're trying to minimize the reaction temperature.
