Your question is easily answered: Since there is ample proof that Germans
make decent two stroke engines it must be the operator :) (or the mixture
that you (the operator) are using). I could tell you lots of positive
experiences with my Stihl brushcutter which has been transported in my
vanagon many times. But this is not the only VW connection. As owner of
Audi automobiles you should know that Audi, based on Auto Union, based on
DKW has made its history with two stroke engines. Does anyone remember the
old DKW that had a two stroke front engine and looked in its overall shape
somewhat similar to a VW Beetle?
In addition there are many two stroke Diesel ship engines produced by Deutz
now called IVECO, but they are admittedly a bit large as their pistons can
have diameters of about 1 meter (1 yard). Some of them have a narrow
walkway just below the head gasket. Now there is an idea for industrial art
in your backyard plus a visual answer to your question. We may be leaving
VW territory now, but you asked .... :)
