Keep taking stuff off until you get to the actual circuit board -- there will be two places next to each other where two adjacent pads could be bridged by a solder drop. The clock I looked at was built with copper bridging the 24-hr pads, then this was scratched out and the 12-hr pads were soldered together. Anyway, clean the solder off the 12-hr side and solder across the 24-hr side. Use a small clean iron (</= 25W) and go easy. You can solder a tiny wire across if the solder drop doesn't want to bridge the gap easily.
