Well, I have zero personal experience with any portable jump start batteries... but what I have heard is that they are not powerful enough to start the engine if your starter battery is dead... only if it is low is it helpful...

personally, I think having a good set of jumper cables inside the van, buying quality name brand batteries, and replacing your starter battery BEFORE it goes dead is the best strategy.... like, if you buy a 7 year battery why try to get 8 years out of it? lesseee.... maybe $80 divided by 7 = $11 cost per year... why skimp?

my 2 cents...

Bill
