I owned a 1964 rust bucket Karman Ghia back in the early 70's.  it had no
motor, and I had a used Porsche Super 90 motor in the garage, so after
adding my old Michelin XAS tires to the frame, we added the S-90 and went
autocrossin'

a broken throttle cable during the second lap of my second run at an event
in Ames IA cost me a top three finish against the likes of a mid engine 350
Chevy Corvair and several Corvettes.  I relished in the fact that a raggedly
old looking clapper like that could come close to kicking some Detroit butt.

I also had a 57 Ghia convertible sans top which I welded a full roll cage in
to.  Wanted to make it the full bore slalom car, but it became a real money
pit and I bought a real 1963 356B coupe and cruised for chicks instead.
