Hi people, I've just joined the list and just last week purchased a '82 Vanagon camper at auction. I spent last week cleaning it out, tidying up wiring and so on. Found it has a huge after market oil cooler, triple air horns (not connected, for some reason), electronic ignition (also not connected) a "Fuelstar" which is apparently a device allowing me to run on unleaded fuel, dual batteries, oil temperature gauge, current and voltage gauges. The camper conversion is by "Trakka" a Sydney based company. It has a quite low profile poptop which uses a couple of gas struts, a swing-out gas stove, and a top loading fridge. As far as I can work out, the fridge only runs on 12v. The passenger seat swivels, and both seats have fold away arm rests. The van handles like a boat, I think because the shock absorbers need changing. There's a bit of oil leaking from under one of the heads, and the poptop canvas is grotty, but all in all, I'm pretty pleased with it. I got a Bentley in perfect condition at the local second hand bookshop (How lucky was that?) Must be a sign! Geoff Law Perth
