I just got a used VW car stereo from a friend to replace the outdated and inconvenient one my kombi came with. I'll install it some time I can get some help from a knowledgeable assistant. Problem is that it is a security-coded model and is probably locked up now. My friend took it out of his VW Jetta (circa 1994 I think) and now I'll probably need some code. He doesn't have the code. I'll call VW but I thought I would post this anyway in case any of you know. On the front it says: -VW Premium Audio, Anti-theft CD-Changer Control (It is a cassette only, but presumably can connect to one of those CD-changer things in the back -- which I will see if I can get some day -- used, anyone know anything about this?) On the bottom it says: aftermarket equipment WCS2 Vendor Code YPC VW of America Model 357 035 186H, Ref. No. CQ-LV1110F, label No. YEFM01759 Matsushita, Japan, Serial No. 15543 On the top it says: *VWZ5Z7P0651176 Thanks a bunch to anyone who knows anything about this car stereo. -- B Hydesmith/83 Westfalia/Winnipeg/MB/Canada/hsc@mac.com Winnipeg Volkwagenverein: wvwv@egroups.com _____________________________________________ |
