Dear Syncronauts, The evidence seems to be mounting that its "time to replace my thermostat"! I did a search and came across several sketchy passages in the archives about the difficulty of replacing it ( but it was pretty sketchy "!) Mines an '87 and I'd love to hear from anyone that's replaced theirs! I'm sure its not easy to describe, but I'm trying to get a sense how hard it is to get in there and back out. (Is it as difficult as was mentioned by one person in the archives??) I'm pretty good mechanically, I've bled the brakes and cooling system and replaced the master cylinder, installed new CV boots, main shaft R&R etc, but I've never done the stat. If its gonna be really difficult I was hoping to know that before I start (so I can get myself "psyched " or ask questions if I get stuck?) And do you need any special tools? Or has anyone documented it (on the web) that you know of??
