David, I use a big screw driver to pry between the flat bracket and the case pull towards the passenger side. Or do what I did. I had a bracket modified by welding in a piece from a late model Golf bracket. It's the one with teeth which engages a cogged washer. The action of the washer against the teeth on the bracket does the tightening for you. People with inline VW engines would know what I'm talking about. I don't know why VW never applied this to the Wasserboxer. No more prying and no more crying (from busted knuckles). BenT |
