Subject: Bentley CD-ROM and New Book- LIST DEAL!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I am happy to announce that I now have the long awaited Vanagon Bentley CD-ROM's coming, along with a new Model Documentation book that might also be of interest, both at special listmember pre-order prices.

The CD-ROM covers everything that's in the Vanagon Bentley manual, in an HTML format useable on both PC and Mac. Refer to Bob Donalds' review of the CD-ROM, also posted today. (Interestingly, according to his post, it is at least slightly updated compared to the book, although Bentley has not advertised it as such.) The cover price is $100, but if you pre-order now, you will get a special 35%-off listmember price of $64.95. This price will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis; see below. Part number is EVT3.

The new Bentley book, "Volkswagen Model Documentation," details the important dates, changes, and milestones in each model's production run, including quotes from press, test articles, photos, and information from internal Volkswagen documents. It also includes a history of Volkswagen. It covers all VW buses/vans thru 1991, plus Beetle, Ghia, Types 3 and 4, Thing, and Porsche 914. This is an English language reprint of a book previously available only in German. 240 pages, 247 photographs. Pre-order price is $19.95, which is 1/3 off the cover price. You will also save on shipping by ordering this at the same time as the CD ROM. Part number GVM1.

These special pre-order prices will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis only, and probably will only last a few days or less depending on response. (After that there will be a listmember price but it will be a bit higher; I've gotta make my money on these at some point :-) You can order toll-free at 1-866-BUS-DEPOT, or they will be on the website later today or tomorrow. Pricing will be higher to the general public, so you must specify that you're a listmember when ordering to get these prices. They are due here next week, so figure on them shipping around then.
