Subject: heating
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

A few days ago there was a message from a guy who was considering using his Vanagon as a winter vehicle - one of the reasons he gave was that it heated up quickly.

This confused me a bit, because my Vanagon (85 GL) takes forever to heat up, and there is very little heat coming out of the fan at all. The heating units seem to work - I have front and rear heaters - but they're murder on gas.

How much heat should be produced by the fan alone? I don't have A/C in the van, just the standard fan system. I am wondering if something is not working properly or needs to be recharged?

Any opinions/experiences/comments would be appreciated
