I would say that a certain double standard exists. The EKTA CD is not available

to the public domain, and it is not being sold to the public as a viable business. In other words, even if you wanted to, you can't go out and buy a copy. It is for the use of VW dealers, not the public. I don't have a copy of the EKTA, but in my own little ethical world, that is why I wouldn't have a problem violating that copyright law. The same can be said for the VW Pro Training manuals. You can't buy them, and they weren't originally "sold".

Bentley is available in the public domain, is being sold as a viable business. Copying it not only violates what ever applicable laws there are, but is also hurting someone's business, livelihood, and the investment that was made to author it.
