Phaedra, I would almost bet money your chirping is from a metal to metal contact where there is some motion without lubrication or possibly a belt not tight enough or perhaps even worn a bit more that it should be. I have had both situations. The latter is an easy fix, generally. But the former is a bit tougher. Right now I'm trying to find such a chirp in my own rig. Just started as the weather here turned colder. You might just pop the "hood" and let it run while you look around in the engine compartment a bit.
