I payed homage to Les Schwab this morning and spent my 2hours waiting to buy my Hakkapeliitta studded snows (I still can't spell it). I was there an hour before they opened and still waited two hours. The tires drive great. They are rated at 1450lbs. a tire. Not quite as high as I would like but I really wanted the improved traction. As for snow driving tips: I will take really good studded snow tires over any four wheel drive or various traction systems. When given the choice I will take both syncro and studded snows. Remember when the roads are the worst the skiing is the best. Great tires on two wheel drive gives you more control than marginal tires on 4 wheel drive.

As for Tri-Stars I have seen at least 4 in the states, two in person here in the NW and two in magazines. The one for sale here is cool looking. Are those aluminum gates some kind of factory option or just something that was put on. There was a really cool burgundy one here in town and the guy sold it for close to $30,000 with over 100,000 miles on it. It was super cool with big brush guards and the roll bar that wrapped from the bed over the cab to the front bumper. As far as value, they are worth what someone will pay. On a rig that rare you might as well start high.
