This subject just came up on the Scirocco email list (my home away from, er while I'm home) and the consensus so far is:

1. It's pricey. Why? Because 2. It takes tech skill to install properly. But what if 3. You do it yourself?

Apparently the early Passat and Golf models came with a throttle controlled by cable, the current ones use drive by wire and is more complicated to graft in to the earlier car(s).

Motor mounts and trans grafting, electrical brain management, keep it stock & long lifed vs shooting for the moon and 300HP?

rattling off a stream of consciousness, TBerk
