Hi All, Saw this posting:

> "I believe that the door speakers and speakers in the rear A/C unit in my > 90 Vanagon Carat are 4". Can anyone confirm this before I order some > from Crutchfield? > Also, I am looking at Pioneer 2-way 4 inchers (if this is right size), > anyone have any suggestions?"

& just thought I'd spread the word. Yes, as a few have posted, the stock speakers are 4". The problem everyone is aware of, is the front spreaker grille/dash clearance.

I found some Alpine 4" 2 ways with the perfect depth on the grilles. I bought them over a year ago & I threw the box away, so I don't remember all the details.

They were $50 bucks or less for the pair. I think they are 40 or 50 watts. I bought them at The Goodguys electronics store in Seattle, I think it's a national chain.

They sound good, would be better with a more powerful amp. But way better than stock. I remember I had to make the hole a little bit bigger because the cone itself is a little bigger.

If I get a chance, I'll pull one off & look for a model #.

Happy hunting. David K Seattle 1990 15" Syncro
