This is not Vanagon related, but Jetta. I have an 85 Jetta GLI that runs great (when she wants to start, but that's another problem that I may be polling for here if I can't figure it out) and I love her dearly, but lately there has been a strange and insanely annoying "Chirping" sound coming out of the passenger side dash board vent. It sounds almost like a scraping sound, but does chirp like a bird. This only happens when the blower switch is on 2 or 3. 1 is silent, and 4 is fine as well. I have a severe problem with cold, and normally have the heat up. I still get this sound when it is on floor blower, and it is definitely coming from the passenger side. This noise is driving me insane. Also, it never does it if there's someone else in the car, I think she does it just to make me look like a fool. But every time I have the heater blowing on 2 or 3, and I'm by myself, this sound comes out to play with my head. I think my blower motor may be going, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for resolve, before I get the part and the painful procedure to put it in. Thank you. --Paul-- |
