I was just going through my list backlog and saw this post. I felt I had to comment on it. I have met Martin Schneider at 2 VW shows in the L.A. area (One show I was showing my van off, and the other a was simply oogling the other VWs). I must say that Marty is indeed a generous and knowledgeable fellow, not to mention passionate about Vanagons.

Just so you know, the first show he had a Porsche 3.2L F6 powered Syncro van, and the other show He had his "Germinator", A Chevy (I think) V8 powered Doublecab. Both were very impressive!
