If you really want a Rev limiter you can install an MSD ignition. They have chips so you can vary the rev limit. It will cost you somewhere around $250 or maybe more for the ones that let you set the rev limit. You should check carefully to make sure they have a chip with a low enough limit as these are mainly designed for racing applications so the limits may be higher. I have never run one, I have just done some research on them, so I have no first hand experience. Someone mentioned that it would be an "engineering feat" for a rev limiting rotor under $10. If I remember right I thought the rev limiting rotors were about $25-$30. hope this helps, Craig the Gorge VW club
