Because Bosch does not list a Platinum Quad plug for the Vanagon, either in their application guides or on their website. I have not yet received even a single inquiry from anyone interested in buying Platinum +4's for their Vanagon, and therefore have felt no great urgency to inquire as to why Bosch does not recommend them for the Vanagon.

Since the tri-electrode Bosch 7 series plugs have the exact same operating temperature as the single-electrode 7-series ones, I'm can't see why that would be. Opinions vary as to whether performance in the Vanagon is genuinely improved with the tri-electrode plug, but I have had no customers report a negative impact on performance or reliability. Reports seem to be about evenly split between those who have noticed no improvement, and those who report improved gas mileage or performance.
