Subject: Machine shop recommendation...
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

I'm looking for recommendations for a good machine shop in the SF Bay Area (specifically on the Peninsula) that can do the following work on a Type 4 engine:

Grind crankshaft (if necessary) balance a new set of pistons, my connecting rods & crank Do a good 3-angle valve job on two VW heads

I'm aware of Crankshaft Corporation in South San Francisco for the crank work, but I'm trying to find a "one stop" shop who can do everything. I will do the rest of the rebuilding work myself; just need this machine work done.

This motor is a spare 2 liter I'm building for my Porsche 914, to use in place of the "smog legal" version already installed and running.

I will post this question to a Porsche listserve, but I thought I'd ask here as well.

Thanks,

Dan
