"Rebuilts" -- the only way to go. Too much waste today. I drive tires until the cord comes off, and drove on the sidewall sometimes. Never buy new, just used ones. Don't even buy, just find em in the fields and places laying around. Different brands, different sizes, it doesnt matter. Bunch a bull. As long as there's rubber, you're fine. New tires, I can't imagine spending that kind of money.

Don't throw away those old rusty steel rims either. When the tires finally fall off and there's nothing left but sidewall, I drive on the steel rims. They last pretty long really. Make a cool sound like a train too! Wicked awesome . . . And people stay the heck away from you because all of the sparks flying everywhere. But semi-trailer mudflaps help if you're that concerned about showing off and attracting too much attention.

HK 12", 13", and 14" steel wheeled vanagon -- "SCHPARKY"

PS -- Hey my syncro caterpillar drive unit quit working today-- anybody know why? These Volkswagens, man, they take too much maintenance!
