Subject: steering rack bushings
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

while I was under the front of the van installing my "new" horns and having a general look around, I noticed when I moved the steering linkage(s) to see if there was any slop in any of the various connections, my entire rack would move, maybe 2mm or so, from side to side as I turned the "input" shaft. The rack bolts onto the frame via 4 bolts and rubber bushings.

Looks like my bushings need replacement. Bentley shows the bushings being pressed out of the rack (rack on bench).

Just another thing to worry about.

Alistair
