Subject: Any suggestions on 15" Michelin Arctic Alpin Snoo tires?
Content-type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Listees,

Just getting ready for another fine Rochester winter and looking for snow tires. Has anyone on the list with 15" wheels tried the Michelin Arctic-Alpin?

I plan to put these on 15" steel rim from a 99 Passat. What I found, at the tirerack website is that there are several 15" sizes that will carry our beloved Vanagons. (the 14" are too wimpy in max loading)

205/70QR15 rated at 95Q with a max load of 1521lbs. 215/65QR15 rated at 97Q with a max load of 1521lbs. 215/70QR15 rated at 97Q with a max load of 1609lbs. 225/70QR15 rated at 100Q with a max load of 1764lbs. 225/65QR15 rated at 102Q with a max load of 1874lbs. 235/70QR15 rated at 102Q with a max load of 1874lbs. and so on.

I am leaning towards the 215/70R15 capable of 1609lbs. for my Syncro Westy.

Any input or insights on making a size selection will be welcomed.

Thanks,

Joel Cort 89 Syncro Westy Rochester NY.
