It sold a couple of weeks after I looked at it.  It was registered in
canada, no big deal to import a vehicle over 15 years old here.

regarding the speed/power:
If you try driving a fully loaded westfalia LT high roof (1982) with diesel
engine you will see what I was talking about.  I drove it on the highway in
the mountains,  when going up hills I had to drive on the shoulder in 2nd
gear at 25 mph.  Once I spent 45 minutes driving on the shoulder of the
highway because it would not go any faster, there was a headwind.  I thought
that was kinda dangerous.  Lots of room and good fuel economy (12l
per100km), but not a safe vehicle imho.
I was set to buy it, but it was just such a difficult vehicle to drive that
all of it's other virtues could not make up for it's shortcomings.  No power
steering and poor visibility made it hard to drive in the city.
I'm talking about a 1982 diesel version here, I'm sure newer ones are
different.
