Subject: '87 westy idles problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

My father's '87 Westy purchased in July has been a joy and test of patience for him and I feel responsible for all, after directing him towards this particular example. After paying a local mechanic $700.00 (some may remember the thread this started) to replace the idle stab. unit, temp sensor and plugs, the vehicle started to develop what we thought was the classic bucking problem. While we did find that the mechanic left a plug wire barely connected to the plug (loose to the touch) we don't know if this will prove to be the solution. Also, after a highway sprint the other day the van died at idle. What could this be? Fuel filter was also recently replaced. New idle stab.????

Any suggestions would be truly apprectiated.

Jeff
