I issued an opps a few minites after I posted the original. The real reflectors were never omitted on a Vanagon / Transporter than entered Canada or the USA. Even the VWs that I have imported as *supposed* to have a front and rear reflector installed by law. I thought all the '85s sold in North America had round headlights and the rectangular headlights didn't come to North America until 1986 when the engine switched from 1.9l to 2.1l. The side markers may have been removed or accidentally omitted at the factory. BTW, in Mill Valley, California I occassionally see a light blue Transporter single cab pickup with diesel engine. I talked to the owner once and I think he said it was a 1985 and had been imported from Germany by a friend. Zach Kaplan |
