Subject: Do I have a Broken Clutch?????
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hello Volks,

I am very upset! I just put in a new(used) trans in my Syncro and finished it yesterday. It ran great and today after I topped off the Tranny oil, I pulled out of the garage to park next to my Westy so I could swap radios. Well, it had been snowing all day and the Westy was parked in the yard. The Syncro got stuck (No front driveshaft yet) and I tryed to get out but just spun the rear right tire. While going through the gears to try to get the Van to move, it stalled out in 4th. After the stall, I couldn't move the shifter out of 4th and the clutch pedal will not move. I pulled it out with my 4wd Suburban and got it in nuetral. The van will start in each gear and drive, but still no clutch. I checked the hydraulic system and it was fine. When I oped the bleeder screw on the slave cylinder, the clutch pedal went to the floor. This tells me that something is binding up in the bellhousing. Has anyone had any experience with this? Do you think I Busted the pressure plate or something else?

Any help or conclusions are greatly appreciated. Please P-mail me because I am on digest mode.
