George here. It's wicked chilly here in our lattitude. On second thought, attempting this project on your own, possibly outdoors, with no deep desire to do so may just be a bad idea. I sure wouldn't think any less of you if you passed on this particular bit of character-building. A confession here. I own a Vanagon and a '78 Volvo kidmobile. I am not a real mechanic. I don't even like cars all that much. I pedal/walk to work daily, year round. I just work on them to keep 'em going without a couple of car payments each month. I respect the machinery, but I don't love it. Ciao from Grand Rapids, MI, where it is getting too cold to hold a wrench. --- Stuart MacMillan <macmillan@HOME.COM> wrote: > Yes, the Vanagon is not the first engine R & R a > novice should attempt! > I s may well be a "cut your losses and get out" > sitrobably put the > cost cl > > ______________ > > |[ ] [ ] [ ]\ > > | | | | > > ||-(())----(())-| > > > > Terry 85 GL > > > > -- > > Stuart MacMillan > > Seattle > > > > '84 Vanagon Westfalia w/2.1 > > '65 MGB (Daily driver since 1969) > > '74 MGB GT (Restoring sloooowly) > > > > Assisting on Restoration (and spending OPM): > > '72 MGB GT (Daughter's) > > '64 MGB (Son's) > > > > Stripped and gone but their parts live on: > > '68 MGB, '73 MGB, '67 MGB GT
