Either those plugs were stuck, or your mechanic didn't know that the radiator swings forward away from the engine for easy access to the plugs. Truly one of the slickest features of the 5 cylinder Eurovan. However, I don't think this would aid in the transplant of the VR6 (you'd never be able to get to those plugs on the back side!)
