I actually have this exact block heater on my '87 Wolfy. Yes, it does just
bolt right up to some existing holes. The bottom exhaust header bolts and a
couple of bolts down on the block. I'll sencond Ron on the "probably won't
line up" sentament. At least not on the heads. But it might line up on the
block. If you're really creative, you could find a way to either extend (or
shorten) the upper mounts as needed to fit. I'm sure someone here on the
list is itchin' for a new project.... ;-)

I haven't used mine this season because the wires tend to fall apart. I just
haven't gotten around to sealing them up.

It is.  It simply bolts onto the block using existing bolts and plugs into
the wall.  I'd imagine it could be used on an aircooled, but I doubt that it
would line right up to existing bolts on the bottom of the engine as it does
on a wasserboxer.
