Once you remove the two screws, gently pry with a small screw driver around the rubber gasket. They pop right out. They sometimes get stuck on there. I wouldn't worry too much about the lens because it's pretty tough. Keep in mind that those gaskets are subjected to a lot of heat. They can sometimes get baked onto the metal.
