When stainless steel was first used in p****ls the material would migrate from one part to another or gall. The designers had to used very dissimilar alloys to prevent this. Also when I worked on an NC lathe stainless seemed to mill softer and wear the tools less that most of the carbon steels we saw. Just my 2 cents John |
