Try to 'wiggle' it around as you turn GENTLY. Brute force will only serve to bend your key.

You can also spray some WD-40 or other light oil in there, Don't use Graphite because unlike door locks, this one carries electricity and graphite can conduct.

You might let the spray soak awhile and then with the key inserted, lightly tap on the side of the housing. This might free up something sticking.

Oh, and is your steering wheel turned all the way to one side or in a way so as to put tension on the steering column lookout? you might try to turn the wheel back to a slightly free position as you work the key in it's lock.
