Subject: Electrical problem with new engine
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hello,

I just installed a freshly rebuilt 1.8L engine in my 80 Westy. I've got an electrical problem like this: no juice from the ignition key. Battery okay, even with a jump. Been bridging the terminals on the starter with a socket drive and the engine spins nicely, but no spark. Tested for juice at positive coil terminal... nothing.

This is probably a silly question, but... any ideas? I can get the engine to turn, but no spark at the plugs.

Thanks, and if indeed this question is pointless, thanks for not laughing. :)

Chris 80 Westy (Almost There)
